Steve Carell Likely To Bid Farewell To ‘Office’

April 29, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): It is a bad piece of news for all the devotees of Steve Carell. Carell, who depicts the character of Michael Scott on The Office, might be bidding farewell to it after the next season. The Office is a comedy series on NBC.

The Office represents the daily lives of workers in the Scranton branch of the fictional Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. Michael Scott, character enacted by Carell, is the essential character and is currently the manager of the company. Since its commencement on NBC in 2005, The Office and Carell have been synonymous for the fans. His performance in the series bequeathed him a Golden Globe, two Writers’ Guild of America Awards, and four Emmy Award nominations.

During a dialogue with BBC Radio, Carell mentioned that the seventh season of the series could be his last. He vocalized that his agreement is till the seventh season and he doesn’t believe that he will remain any longer with it.

He has starred in several Hollywood films like Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine, Evan Almighty, and given his voice in the animated films such as Over the Hedge, Horton Hears a Who!, and Despicable Me.

Lately, Carell has been witnessed in the box-office hit ‘Date Night’ alongside Tina Fey. He has a role in the forthcoming film ‘Dinner for Schmucks’.
