Stephen Gately was desperate to have kids
October 15th, 2009 - 2:45 pm ICT by ANILondon, Oct 15 (ANI): Late Boyzone vocalist Stephen Gately had revealed in his last interview that he had discovered God and was keen to have kids.
The 33-year-old Irish singer was found dead in a hotel room in Majorca, Spain while on holiday on Oct 10.
Gately had revealed that he wanted to adopt a child with partner Andrew Cowles.
“I know there’s a heaven and I won’t be truly complete until I have children. That’s my biggest dream,” the Mirror quoted him as saying a fortnight before his death.
“Andrew and I have talked about it and it would really fulfil us. It’s definitely something I want in the future,” he added.
Although it is being speculated that he was killed because of an eight-hour drinking binge, Gately said he wasn’t a party animal or a big drinker.
“There can be a bit of drinking when we get together for a big night out but that’s only very rarely,” he said.
“I’m not into booze in a big way. I can’t stand the hangovers but enjoy a few glasses of wine to let my hair down,” he added.
The singer said he has found a “spiritual contentment” and prayed to God every day.
“It has come out more in the last year or so. I believe in God and a higher source,” he said. (ANI)
