Washington DC, Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The National Mall in Washington will be the venue of The Rally to Restore Sanity. Whereas the March to Keep Fear Alive will be held on October 20. The announcement was made on Comedy Central by presenter Stephen Colbert.
Colbert said that Stewart’s announcement was “disturbing,” he added that he will “not take it down a notch. Now is the time for all good men to freak out for freedom! Need I point out that ‘reason’ is one letter away from ‘treason?’”
Stewart was the first one to make a speech and he urged liberal Americans to make their views known. He said he hopes to rally millions of Americans that are politically tolerant to lead the march for freedom in the US.
Colbert also announced that he would be leading The Match to Keep The Fear Alive. There has been recent speculation that a group of people were planning to organize a match to counter the Restoring the Honor rally led by Glenn Beck that will come off on the Martin Luther King anniversary date.
There has been a strong campaign online promoting the Colbert-led rally on websites such as Facebook, Reddit.com, etc. More than $200,000 has been raised for charitable causes with the help of Colbert and Stewart.
