Feb 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The skeptics who do not believe in the theory of global warming are mocking its proponents as the Snowmageddon is lashing several parts of USA. However, Stephen Colbert, the noted political comedian is taking potshots at a those skeptics in his characteristic manner. The capital is still reeling under the effects of the blizzard that has brought public life to a standstill. This has given the opponents of global warming concept a potent weapon to shoot back. Stephen Colbert is not amused with the way they are lashing out at Al Gore, the former vice president.
Stephen Colbert said in his statement that it would be wrong to reach a conclusion on global warming based on an isolated natural calamity. He has argued that night time does not mean the sun has been destroyed. Similarly a snowstorm does not mean that the temperature of the earth is not rising. He lashed out at the critics of Al Gore and said that they are jumping based on observational research without studying the implications and researching well.
No matter what the detractors of global warming feel, the statement of Stephen Colbert has some merit. A robust snowfall does not mean that global warming is a factious concept, scientists have affirmed. On the contrary, some weather experts and scientists have said that snowstorms can mean that the problem of global warming is only getting aggravated with time. A rise in the Earth’s temperature can result in all types of natural calamities taking place, the scientists have said.
