Stars Pay Tribute To Anita Baker On Soul Train Music Awards 2010

anitaNov 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Legendary R&B soul singer and songwriter Anita Baker was honored at the Soul Train Music Awards 2010 for her magnificent contribution in the music industry. The who’s who of R&B and hip hop industry graced the award function. The event was held on November 10 outside Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre but it was aired on BET and Centric on November 28.

The Soul Train Music Awards 2010 night saw some mind-blowing performances by the celebrities like Ne-Yo and Erykah Badu. The singers gave some extraordinary performances which the audience loved and appreciated. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson hosted the show. Anita Baker won the Legend Award for the night along with Ronald Isley. Anita Baker is one of the most influential figures of R&B industry with 4 platinum selling albums, 2 gold albums and 8 Grammy awards in her kitty. The Soul Train Music Awards 2010 organizers made it a point to pay a tribute to the veteran singer and celebrate her career. The tribute to the legendary singer featured artists like Goapele, Lalah Hathaway, Chrisette Michele, Dionne Farris, Kem, Faith Evans, Tamia and El DeBarge who sang all the greatest hits of Anita Baker.

When Anita Baker took the stage to receive her award, she looked happy and moved by such wonderful performances. Speaking later, Anita Baker said that she feels “amazing” as people still listen to her songs and appreciate them. She specially spoke about her album “Rapture” and said that the whole thing is so “lovely”. The other awards of the night included Best hip-hop song of the year which was grabbed by “Love the Way You Lie” by Eminem featuring Rihanna while Melanie Fiona won the award for Best New Artist.
