Star TV Joins Hands With South African Pay Television Service

‘Star TV’ who hasn’t heard of them right? It’s one of the leading television channels of India. Watching TV was not fun as long as there were ‘Door Darshan’ channels. Star TV was one of the saviors, who brought a revolution to the Indian TV viewing scenario, since cable TV was introduced. From daily soaps to comedy shows and from sports to music, they have continuously provided us non-stop entertainment.
It’s hard to imagine the lives of Indian people living outside India. They don’t get to see their Hindi channels and have to settle for English or the local ones. Star TV is gearing up to make life a bit easier for Indians living outside India. They have chosen South Africa to start with.
Star has joined hands with the South African pay Television service called Top TV, and launched four desi channels there. The channels target mainly the Indian population residing there. As of now, Star Plus, the all time favorite Hindi channel, ‘Star Gold’ which airs all kind of Bollywood movies, ‘Star Vijay’, the Tamil entertainment channel and ‘Channel V’, Star’s very own music TV has been launched there.
Star has launched its services from the first of November. It’s obviously a very good idea as there are a lot of Indians who live in South Africa but crave for their native Tamil or Hindi channels.
Star’s Executive Vice President, Rajan Singh said that he was very happy and proud to have introduced top Hindi and Tamil entertainment in South Africa.
