Star Jones recovering from heart surgery

Los Angeles, Mar 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Presenter Star Jones is recuperating from heart surgery that she underwent last week. The former ‘The View’ host got herself admitted to the hospital for the cardiac procedure on last Wednesday. Her representative said that her cardiac procedure was related to the thoracic procedure that she had almost 3 decades ago. The surgery was a complete success, and the star is now recuperating amongst her loved ones.
A statement from Star Jones’ representative says that, “On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones. This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”
She was the co-host of the show ‘The View’ when she had her gastric bypass surgery in 2003. Subsequently she was able to shed off the excess 160 pounds off her body. There was a big hue and cry about her sudden weight loss, as she was a public figure, being the co-host of ‘The View’. Star Jones also took advantage of her public image, and announced that the drastic weight loss was due to dieting and her punishing exercise regime. However a few years later, in an interview she confessed the truth, that the weight loss was due to the gastric bypass surgery.
