Los Angeles, Mar 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to People.com the former co-host of ‘The View’ - Star Jones underwent cardiac surgery last week, and she is now recovering after the surgery. A representative for Star Jones confirmed that she had undergone cardiac surgery on the 17th of March. Her fans needn’t be worried, as the surgery was not performed on an emergency basis. Rather it was scheduled earlier and was carefully planned too. The representative also said that this was a follow-up surgery to the thoracic surgery, that the star had 3 decades ago.

In a statement the representative said that, “On Wednesday, March 17th, a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones. This recent surgery is a follow-up to the thoracic surgery she had 30 years ago. The procedure was successful and she is recovering well with her family. Star is grateful for everyone’s thoughts and prayers.”

Star Jones had undergone gastric bypass surgery in August 2003, and after the surgery she was instrumental in losing 160 pounds. She was also the co-host of the show ‘The View’ when she had her gastric bypass surgery in 2003. Later Star Jones claimed that she had lost 160 pounds due to dieting and her exercise regime. However later it was learnt that her weight loss was due to her bypass surgery.
