New York, Mar 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American TV personality Star Jones underwent a rare kind of cardiac surgery. The good news is that she is now on her way to a speedy recovery. Star Jones already had a thoracic surgery being performed some 30 years back when doctors were treating on her thoracic tumor. The recent cardiac surgery which was performed on Mar 17 is said to have been a follow up operation of the thoracic surgery.

Star Jone’s publicist has told in a meeting with the media that the star is recovering on a fast note and that she wants to thank one and all her well wishers who have prayed for her and stood beside her when she needed them. Star Jones, who is a known face of the American television owing to her appearance on ABC’s weekday morning talk show “The View,” had previously been subjected to agastric bypass surgery in August 2003, which made her shed 160 lbs.

Star Jones, who is also a lawyer, first made her appearance on Court TV in the year 1991 where she became a commentator in the rape trial of William Kennedy Smith. Following that, she became a legal correspondent reporting for “NBC Nightly News” and NBC’s “Today”. In 1994, she left NBC and came up with her own court room show “Jones & Jury”. Regrettably the show was called off air after a year and Star Jones became the chief legal analyst working for “Inside Edition”. This is when she had the chance of covering the O.J. Simpson murder trial. She was the only reporter to have interviewed O.J Simpson during his trial.
