New York, May 8 (ANI): TV anchor Star Jones has hit back at Barbara Walters’ comments on her gastric bypass surgery, branding the American journalist a slutty old bag.

Jones said that the comments showed her The View co-hosts true character.

“It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book,” the New York Daily News quoted Jones, as saying.

“It speaks to her true character,” she added.

Walters had infuriated Jones when she complained in her autobiography that the “View” co-hosts were forced to cover up the former fatty’s stomach-shrinking surgery.

“Joy [Behar], in particular, resented having to go along with a lie that implied all one needed to do was situps and ingest one cookie,” she wrote.

However, Walters’s rep, Cindi Berger, said the ABC newswoman would not be firing back at Jones, who was recently in the news for her split from hubby Al Reynolds.

“She will not dignify this with a response. Barbara’s written words say it all,” said Berger. (ANI)
