New York, Dec 23 (ANI): Hip hop singer Ashanti’s stalker has been proved guilty for sending vulgar pictures and text messages to her mother.

Devar Hurd from Chicago is facing up to two years in jail for sending pictures of his private parts to Ashanti’s mom and manager Tina Douglas.

The 31-year-old was convicted of stalking and aggravated harassment for his three-year campaign to romance Ashanti with vile messages and raunchy pictures that he insisted were “for the ladies.”

Hurd who is an aspiring singer and self-proclaimed CEO of a record label was taken into custody in July, reports the New York Daily News.

He insisted in testimony last week that he had to meet the Long Island-born singer after briefly making eye contact with her at a 2003 Chicago concert.

After initially leaving long voicemails for Douglas, he then started sending crude messages and pictures of him pleasuring himself.

Hurd is expected to be sentenced Jan. 11. (ANI)
