May 31st, 2011 - 10:34 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first episode of the show “Single Ladies” was aired on VH1 on Monday. The series which is the first scripted show to be aired on the network marked the return of Stacey Dash to television.
The “Clueless” star’s character is Val. In the first episode of the series, Dash’s character ended her relationship with her boyfriend and becomes single again. After ending the relationship, she opened a high-end clothing boutique. The series will follow the lives of single women with differing views on sex and relationships. After looking at the plot of the series, some people were tempted to compare it to “Sex and the City” but the one of the executive producers of the show thinks the comparison is not right.
Stacey Littlejohn said that, “It’s a compliment in a way but some people will automatically hate it, too. I get very nervous when people use that comparison. I’m not trying to be ‘Sex and the City.’”
Queen Latifah is also an executive producer of the show. VH1 believes that the new show will help the network to “connect” with their audience.
The show premiered on the 30th of May at 9pm ET.
