Mumbai, Aug 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sreeram Chandra, the 24-year-old boy from Hyderabad was declared as the winner of the fifth season of the hit reality singing competition on Sony Entertainment Television “Indian Idol.” The young singer was emerged as the winner of the popular musical reality in a gala season finale that was held on Sunday night which witnessed the presence of the who’s who of the world of entertainment. Superstar Amitabh Bachchan who graced the event announced Sreeram Chandra as the winner of the fifth season of “Indian Idol” leaving behind the other two contestants, Agra lad Rakesh Maini and Gujarati girl Bhoomi Trivedi.

The fact that the 24-year-old Hyderabad boy was able to register victory in the highly-popular musical reality show did not come as a blot from the blue for many as throughout his “Indian Idol” journey, Sreeram Chandra had impressed one and all with his versatility as well as his prowess over singing. With the win, the young singer was able to reserve a cash prize of Rs. 50 lakh, a car, a bike, a one year contract with Sony BMG as well as the much-coveted chance to lend his voice in an upcoming Yashraj Films project.

After being declared as the winner of “Indian Idol,” Sreeram Chandra was understandably on cloud nine as it was a dream come true for him. While reacting to his victory, the 24-year-old added that he was still finding it quite difficult to believe that he had won the reality show while reiterating that the win surely means the world to him.
