Dec 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) After already facing delays and extreme expenses, the Broadway production of ‘Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark’ has ran into another, very frightening setback, when the stunt actor playing Spiderman fell thirty feet from the air during a stunt, and dropped into a pit below as horrified audience members looked on.

According to a report from ‘CBS’ news and ‘The Early Show’, the accident occurred just as the show was about to end last night. The tether which was supposed ot hold the actor as he “flew” is believed to have snapped, which caused the thirty one year old actor to plummet. Firefighters were called to the Foxwoods Theater, at about a quarter till eleven last night. The actor was taken to the Bellevue Hospital with only minor injuries.

Although the actor’s name has not been officially released, a performer stated that it was Christopher Tierney, and a nurse verified that a man by that name was admitted in stable condition, but she could not give any other details. Tierney is not only the stunt man and main aerialist for the Spiderman role, but also the two villains, Kraven and Meeks.

It is the fourth accident for the sixty five million dollar musical since it opened last month. But the director, Julie Taymor does not seem concerned, and feels it is all just a part of show business. She was quoted by ‘CBS’ as stating, “I don’t think anything that’s really creative can be done without danger or risk.”
