New York City, April 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The troubled musical “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” has officially gone on a three-week hiatus. The musical has been called one of the worst in the history of musicals following series of accidents.

The production has also proven to be one of the most expensive on Broadway costing the producers about $65 million to complete. The producers finally got the show on Broadway and after Sunday’s performance the officials announced that the show would return after three weeks. The official opening of the show will however be on the 14th of June.

All the ill-fate that has characterized the production of the show seems to be paying off because ticket sales have been strong. The show has become one of the biggest on Broadway in terms of ticket sales.

Perhaps the decision of the show’s producers to make the show more family-friendly paid off well. The show’s original director Julie Taymor was replaced with Phil McKinley who directed “The Boy From Oz.” The show’s production team also brought in comic book scripter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and choreographer Chase Brock on board to help streamline the show.
