London, Aug 5 (IANS) Spice Girls singer Melanie Chisholm is happy that she took part in the recent tour with her group because it helped her deal with her troubled past. Chisholm confessed that she was initially hesitant to agree to the tour because she feared it would bring back unpleasant memories of the past. She had also struggled with an eating disorder.

Chisholm now reveals that it was a healing process for her and she was able to resolve all her negative feelings about the band.

Contactmusic.com quoted her as saying: “At first I was frightened of being overwhelmed by all those old feelings. There was a big part of me that didn’t want to be reminded of who I was back then. But then I started to feel that maybe this was something I had to do. When it was over, I was finally proud to be a Spice Girl. All those frightened, negative, mixed feelings had disappeared.”
