May 05, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):SPHEREORIGINS MULTIVISION PVT LTD expands with bigger plans to foray into Non Fiction, Regional and other areas. To spearhead the operations, the company has launched PANGLOSEAN ENTERTAINMENT PVT LTD. which will be independently headed by Rajesh Chadha under the aegis of SMPL.

Established and Promoted by Sunjoy Waddhwa, the company Sphereorigins founded in 2002 is one of the largest television production houses in India. Almost all channels have a successful programme from the company. Some of the recent and most popular programs of the house include serials – “Saat Phere’ and “Balika Vadhu’. The company now plans to venture into Non-Fiction, Regional language, overseas projects and many more.

The company acquired its present name in 2008 as Sphereorigins Multivision Pvt Ltd. Sunjoy Waddhwa wants to expand his sphere of entertainment and is bracing ahead to tap the growing potential. Says Wadhwa, “We have an excellent rapport with the channel for delivering quality content. The time seems right for our need to widen the horizons and continue with our endeavor to provide memorable shows with quality class services. The plans are to scale- up the company’s entertainment business by having like-minded people on board.”

As per the business model, a new subsidiary PANGLOSEAN ENTERTAINMENT PVT LTD. is being formed and will be completely under Rajesh Chadha for management & control thus focusing on Non Fiction, Regional, National broadcaster and International business, and the new company will also welcome talented people with Fiction co-productions. Additionally, Rajesh Chadha will be made responsible for the operations, planning and pitching of new fiction and non-fiction shows at Sphereorigins.

The holder of an MBA from Pune University, Chadha has vast and extensive experience in television production and operations, which includes an array of fiction, non-fiction, regional, sports and documentary content. He has expertise of handling shows in different genres for multiple broadcasters in India and abroad. He moves from Endemol after heading their Fiction and Operations over one and half years.

Remarks Sanjay, “Sphereorigins was contemplating to expand into non-compete areas of programming & productions for a while and was waiting for the right business model and with Rajesh Chadha on-board that seemed materializing for us soon.”

When contacted Rajesh Chadha, he explains, “Sphereorigins team has created some of the most successful shows on Indian television today. With growing market trend, there is a lot of potential in a well-established setup like Sphereorigins which has already carved a niche for itself with high quality programming and honest productions. Sunjoy and I share a common mindset and outlook towards the business and that should help us both take that big leap forward.”

Rajesh Chadha, in capacity of CEO, of the newly formed PANGLOSEAN ENTERTAINMENT PVT LTD. would be handling the entire operations, planning and pitching of new content across genre with key focus on co-productions, DD, Regional, International markets.
