Ram Gopal Varma New Delhi, Aug 2 (IANS) He might be a heartthrob down south, but actor Nitin Reddy, who is set to make his Bollywood debut with Ram Gopal Varma’s thriller “Agyaat”, says he is not sure of a career in the Hindi film world unless he wins the hearts of audiences.
“I’m not sure about my career in Bollywood. It’s great to be here but more films in this industry depend on whether people like my work or not. If I’m appreciated and I get good offers then I would love to stay here,” Nitin told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

The 25-year-old made his debut in 2002 with hit Tamil film “Jayam”. He went on to do more films like “Dil” and “Sye” that also became popular. His first Hindi film “Agyaat” also stars Priyanka Kothari and is set to release Aug 7.

Talking about his role in Varma’s film, the actor said: “My character is that of an assistant director of a film. The character can easily be summed up as a guy who goes from zero to hero. In the end my character really emerges as a real life hero.”

“I wanted to work with Ram Gopal Varma so when he called me for the role, I couldn’t say no. On top of that, when I read the script I really liked it and I loved my character. I can easily say this is my best role till now,” he added.

The thriller revolves around a film unit that goes for a jungle-shoot. But soon the crew members get killed one by one, leaving the rest running for their lives.

“Agyaat” was shot in the dense Sigiriya jungles of Sri Lanka. And the location did pose quite a few problems for the cast and crew. But Nitin maintains that even though there were certain difficulties, it was all worth it.

“The location where we were shooting was the biggest problem itself. It was a very scary and deadly jungle. You have all kinds of poisonous snakes and insects there.

“But all went well. Apart from a few injuries to a few people, nothing majorly went wrong. And it was all worth it. I have no complaints,” the actor said.

Even though “Agyaat” is his first Bollywood film, he isn’t nervous about the outcome. Nor was he nervous while shooting sensual scenes for the film.

“This is the first time that I’ve done intimate and sensual scenes in a film, but I didn’t feel nervous at all. Ram Gopal Varma was a big support; he made me understand everything. Every scene that we shoot is acting. They are a part of our job. So I didn’t feel awkward at all.

“At the moment…neither am I excited nor nervous. I’m just waiting for the film’s release,” Nitin said.
