Soulja Boy arrested for possession of marijuana
October 18th, 2011 - 11:08 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Oct 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rapper Soulja Boy has been arrested for possessing firearm and marijuana. Police say they stopped the 21-year-old at a traffic stop and a search in his car revealed the substances and “substantial amount of cash.”
The police say there were four other men with Soulja Boy when he was arrested. All the occupants were also taken to custody as well. The officials say when they arrested the men, there was no incident and the men were “very cordial.”
Police say each of the men will be given three felony charges. The charges are possession of marijuana, possession of firearm with intent to commit crime and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Temple, Georgia police spokeswoman Dana Rampy told reporters that the incident happened on Tuesday morning at about 2:30 am. Rampy says Soulja Boy was stopped for a routine traffic check but when the officials decided to search the vehicle further, they found the substances. The suspects were arrested on the Interstate 20 about 50 miles west of Atlanta.
Soulja Boy was born DeAndre Cortez Way and he is one of the well-known rappers in the United States. The men are still being held in custody.
