Sopranos actor Joseph Gannascoli arrested on DUI charge
June 19th, 2010 - 12:02 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattTampa, Jun 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The star of the TV show ‘The Sopranos’ – Joseph Gannascoli has been arrested on a DUI charge. He was arrested in Tampa in the wee hours of Friday morning.
According to the prison documents, the Tampa police officials had arrested him, but later he posted a bond of $500, so he was going to be freed from prison soon. The 51-year-old actor was lodged behind bars, at the Hillsborough County jail.
According to reports from Tampa Bay Online, a police officer saw that a Dodge was wavering between lanes and had also crossed the lane marker. The officer asked the car to be stopped and the driver who was none other than Joseph, compiled to the request. Then the officer went up to him, and was not surprised to get a whiff of alcohol on his breath. The officer also added that Joseph was not speaking in a coherent manner, and also had bloodshot and watery eyes. He was asked to take sobriety tests, which he subsequently failed.
The alcohol content was gauged by the breath analyzer test, and it revealed that his blood-alcohol level was at 0.111, whereas the maximum limit according to the laws of Florida is 0.08
