May 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) According to reports, James Gandolfini may be in the very early stages of returning to a television stint on HBO; this time for a comedy series. (You mean ‘The Sopranos’ wasn’t comedy?)

Best know to the world as ‘Tony Soprano’, James is said to be planning an adaptation of the hit Quebec TV sitcom which stars Patrick Huard as cabbie Rogatien Dubois Jr. II. James is to play the role of “a politically incorrect cab driver in New York City struggling to keep his life together.” The main problem I can see with this scenario is the fact that although it may be allowed in Canada, ‘political incorrectness’ is not really allowed in America anymore is it? Just kidding, this will likely be a funny new hit show.

The 48 year old James Gandofini is an executive producer on HBO’s plan for the new show called ‘Taxi 22′. It would be his first role since the Sopranos ended suddenly in 2007. James is an Emmy Award winning actor who would likely bring a humorous sarcastic flavor to the part. He won three Emmy’s for his part as Tony Soprano, in the show which aired from 1999 to 2007 on HBO.
