Sony’s Google TV might be launched in October 12

September 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Recently Sony sent out invitations to an October 12 event, within a few minutes industry insiders started speculating that the event might be a platform to launch the new Google TV device. Sony asked the invitees to join the company in the unveiling of the first ever consumer Internet Television. Sony is going to hold a press conference in Manhattan at 5.30pm which will be followed by the product demonstrations. After the demonstrations are over, the invitees will get to see a live musical performance by a sony artist.

Google first introduced the Google TV platform n May this year and since then TV manufacturers have been involved in a race to launch the first Google Tv supported device. Well it looks like Sony has definitely won the race but will it be able to capture the attention of the consumers?

Right now Sony is one of the leading manufacturers of HDTVS and Blu-ray players in the market. It has been speculated that soon Sony will start shipping TVs with Google Tv capabilities. Recently Logitech announced that they will sell a companion box that can be hooked to existing hardware to enjoy the benefits of Google TV. We are sure that the new Google TV enable devices will take the market by storm.
