Summer has arrived and Sonic Drive In has thought of a perfect way to kick off the summer sultriness. Come 3rd June, all the Sonic Drive In locations will be giving away 10-ounce Root Beer Floats from 8 p.m. to midnight.

According to the perfect summer kick-off plan, Sonic will be giving away more than 3.5 million Root Beer Floats to customers all across the nation. The four-hour special event will be free of all expenses. Reflecting upon the plans of this upcoming special summer kick-off, Paul Macaluso, Vice president of Marketing for SONIC says, “We truly appreciate our customers, and are excited to once again celebrate them with free root beer floats. We invite everyone to visit their local drive-in to enjoy a free sweet and nostalgic way to kick off the summer.”

Sonic’s special Root Beer Float is surely going to be a one of a kind treat. One can always have the drink in the traditional way. One can also have it in a different way by whipping the root beer into the soft serve for a smooth, delicious, blended float.

Sonic, America’s Drive-In is a company that is originally based in Oklahoma. In the year 1953, it opened its first hamburger and root beer stand at Shawnee, Oklahoma. At that time it was called Top Hat Drive-In. It was only in the year 1959 that it changed its name to the existing Sonic America’s Drive In. In 50 years Sonic has come a long way and presently it is the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants with more than 3,500 drive-ins all across the nation.
