July 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Sonam Kapoor had kick started her career in as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She became a successful heroine later on. Now, three films old, Sonam Kapoor is already longing to get back to direction.

She says that her first love is acting, which she would want to do for the rest of her life. However, direction is also something that delights her. She plans to get into directing movies, in just two years.

She further adds that she would need some more time to take care of the script and other associated logistics. However, she says that she would atleast wait 10 years before she goes back to the camera.

She currently is in Scotland, shooting for the movie Mausam.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali had actually thought of casting her in the female lead of Saawariya, even when she was working as an assistant director with him for the critically acclaimed Black.
