the-hurt-locker2 Southfield, Mar 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A soldier who served in the Iraq war as an army bomb disposal expert, is suing the makers of the Oscar nominated movie ‘The Hurt Locker’, because he claims that the main character in the movie is based on him. He needed to sue the makers of the movie, because they didn’t give him the ‘financial participation’ in the movie.

Master Sgt. Jeffrey Sarver claims that the main lead of the movie is inspired by him, and as he was cheated, because he wasn’t paid his financial dues, so he had to take help from his lawyers. His attorney Geoffrey Fieger revealed on Wednesday that he had filed a lawsuit in the New Jersey federal court, on behalf of his client. It is not known how much money Master Sgt. Jeffrey Sarver is demanding in the lawsuit. His attorney also declined to reveal the exact financial figures.

Besides this lawsuit, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has barred the producer of “The Hurt Locker” Nicolas Chartier from making an appearance at the upcoming Academy awards. They were forced to take this drastic step, because apparently Nicolas Chartier send out a group email to many of the Academy members, and asked them to choose ‘The Hurt Locker’ as the best picture over the other top-notch nominees like Avatar and Inglourious Basterds.
