Solange Flings Mic at Her Fans, ApologizesMarch 3rd, 2009 - 10:26 pm ICT by GD
R&B star Solange Knowles had her rockstar moment when she threw the microphone stand on a fan while performing at the House of Blues in Chicago, Illinois.
Beyonce’s younger sister was performing on stage at the event when she acted like a rocker and swung the mic stand in the air. She had meant to throw the stand to the other side of the stage but she missed the throw and it went flying into the audience. Knowles said “Didn’t mean to hitcha there” and giggled off the stage.
She later appeared back on stage and apologized the crowd. Speaking on her social networking site Solange said, “Yeah, I wasn’t feeling ‘the love’ from my parents so I threw a mix (sic) stand on someones head? Smh (shaking my head)! But Lmao (laughing my a**e off) too. Heheeheh. I was trying to throw it off stage but it went into the crowd. Turns out I’m a bad rock star.”
The younger Knowles said that she was concerned and made sure that her fan had not been hurt too badly. She added, “I did however feel really bad about it. Didn’t mean for it to go into the crowd. Oops. I looked and made sure everyone was ok and had someone go and double check.”
Looks like the extra oomph Solange attaches to everything about her had her forget her own strength there. Perhaps she’d do good to remember she is not famous enough, yet, to get away with cracking people’s skulls open.
