Soha finally teams up with mom Sharmila Tagore for a film

Soha Ali Khan shall finally team up on screen with mom Sharmila Tagore in a yet untitled, Brit-Asian to be directed by debutante director Sangeeta Datta.
Sources reveal, “The film tells the story of a father and his three daughters. Both Sharmila and Soha were very impressed by the script that they instantly gave in their nod. The shooting for the film will begin in May in London. Girish Karnad, last seen in 8X10 Tasveer is learnt to be playing the father’s role in the film. The makers hope to showcase the film at the presitigious London Film Festival to be held in October 2009. The debutant director, Sangeeta Datta has earlier been an assistant to acclaimed filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh for all his feature films and has also been a part of the team on another Brit-Asian film titled Bricklane starring Tannishta Chatterjee and Satish Kaushik.
Though Soha’s brother Saif Ali Khan has acted with their mom Sharmila before in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya – The Royal Guard, it is the first time, Soha will be sharing the screen with her mom. The mother daughter pair were seen together only on small screen when they came as celebrity judges on the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa’s last season. Soha that time was promoting her film, Khoya Khoya Chand.
