Days after the Emmy Awards had been distributed, Ed O’Neill had commented that Jane Lynch, the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress’ this year for her role of Sue Sylvester in the television musical series ‘Glee’ was a misjudgment on the part of the Emmy Award authorities. In his opinion, the award should have been given to Sofia Vergara for her portrayal of the comic character in ‘Modern Family’. And it was this comment that did not go down well with the critics and several television analysts.
But it now looks like the controversy has reached its end after Sofia Vergara has said in a recent interview that Ed O’Neill had meant that her ‘Modern Family’ character is worthy of getting an Emmy, rather than Jane Lynch is not worthy enough for the award, as was interpreted by all. The Colombian beauty stresses on the fact that Ed O’Neill loves her and so would love to see her winning. Jane Lynch has remained unavailable for comment.
