Sofia Coppola & Thomas Mars to marry in Italy
May 25th, 2011 - 7:38 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sofia Coppola and her fiancé Thomas Mars have confirmed that they will wed in Italy in the summer. The choice of Italy for the wedding was influenced by Coppola’s roots.
The rep of Coppola told reporters that, “They are getting married and having an intimate family wedding.”
The wedding will take place in August at the Palazzo Margherita. This will be the second time that Coppola will be walking down the aisle. In 2003, the film-maker got divorced from her ex-husband Spike Jonze. Since then, she has been going out with Mars and the two have two children- 4-year-old Romy and 1-year-old Cosima- together.
40-year-old Coppola is the director of “Lost in Translation” and “Somewhere.” 34-year-old Mars is the frontman of the band Phoenix. PEOPLE magazine say the wedding will be a traditional one and will be held in the family villa in the city.
Several details have not been made public regarding the upcoming wedding. There are speculations however that the wedding gown will be designed by Coppola’s friend Marc Jacobs.
LA Times revealed that the 19th century villa where the wedding is going to take place is currently undergoing refurbishment.
