So You Think You Can Dance Cat Deeley, the announcer for “So You Think You Can Dance” came out onto the stage to welcome our three judges: Adam Hacket, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe. The judges are happy at Cat’s announcement that they no longer have to cut anyone, that it is entirely up to America’s votes now. Also, we are no longer voting for couples, but for each individual dancer. Noel and Ryan danced the first routine of the night, a hip hop number. Mary thought they were right in character and had awesome chemistry together. Adam thought they both did great, as did Nigel.

Ashleigh and Legacy came next with a contemporary routine. Nigel joked that they had just been physically abused by their choreographer. He said it was a very difficult number which they managed to do well on. Mary yelled ,”Wow!” and said that the routine was great! Adam added that it was extraordinary and that they killed it.

Mollee did the night’s first solo, and for each solo, we learned a little about the dancer. Mollee was in “High School Musical”. Her mom told how proud she and Mollee’s brothers were of her and how far she had come, Mollee’s grandmothers were both in the audience holding up massive signs. Mollee danced her solo to “Rock the Boat” by LM AO.

Russell was the next solo of the night on “So You Think You Can Dance”. His parents tried to keep him off the streets by keeping him in dance. ” If he wasn’t in school, he was dancing,” His father said. He went on to tell how proud he is of Russell. Russell danced his solo to the song “Outros” by Black Milk.

Kathryn and Nathan came next, with a Broadway number to the song “Choreography”. Nigel thought they had both found that style perfectly. Mary expressed how marvelous Kathryn did and that Nathan did great as well. Adam added that they did a terrific job.

Noel came out to perform her solo next. She grew up in Sanford, North Carolina, and had a big family to support her. She explained to us that she had missed a lot of school to make the rehearsals for the show and almost didn’t graduate high school, but that she had worked hard to make up the work and get her diploma. She danced a contemporary solo.

Eleanor and Jakob came next in line with a quickstep routine. Nigel loved it, said they did very well together and that it was comfortable. Mary added that she thought they did great, and Adam said that they did fantastic and that he loved it.

Ryan’s solo was next. He told how dancing is his life, that his grandparents met dancing, his parents met dancing and that he and his wife (Ashleigh) met dancing. His solo was performed to the song “Rock You Like A Hurricane” by The Scorpions.

Kathryn realized that she wanted to pursue as dancing career as a junior in high school. She moved away from home to make this dream possible, and although her mom said that it was very difficult, she is also extremely proud. She danced her solo to the song, “Beautiful”.

Mollee and Russell then came out and performed a Lyrical Jazz routine to the song ” It Must Have Been Love”. Nigel thought that it was terrific and beautiful. “Mollee you have grown so much in a week! Russell I am as proud of you as your father!” Nigel exclaimed. Mary LOVED it. ” Talk about chemistry,” she yelled, ” Everything was just beautiful. Both of you are my favorite couple tonight because of that. I’m just as proud as your mom!” Adam laughed, ” I think I need medical attention, could you please not dance that well in the future, you’re killing me.”

Nathan, who was raised in California, started liking dance at the age of ten, following in his brother’s footsteps. He danced a great solo, and expressed how much he appreciated his parents with tears in his eyes.

Noel and Ryan came after that, with a gorgeous waltz. Nigel told them that they looked like a Disney Prince and Princess, falling in love. Mary said that they absolutely mastered it, and Adam was hypnotised by the performance and found himself breathing with them.

Eleanor grew up in California, but told her parents that she needed to get to New York to train to be a dancer. They obliged her, and although it was very hard and took almost everything they had to move there, they are now so glad they did. Her solo was to the song “Beatbox Harmonica”.

Ashleigh and Legacy came out again, and danced to “Slow Down” by Bobby Valentino.Nigel told them that he was sorry , but that he just didn’t feel it, that it didn’t sit in the groove. Mary agreed “It didn’t work for me either.” Adam said that it wasn’t challenging enough, that it should have been taken up a notch. They all agreed that it was danced well, but the choreography should have been stronger, deeper.

Kathryn and Nathan came back then for their second dance. It was to the tune ” Walk On By”. Nigel told them that their dancing and lines were good, and they danced well for what they were given. Mary stated that the passion wasn’t believable but that there were fabulous moments. Adam said that Nathan was a polarizing contestant but that things had been bumpy for him. He added that Kathryn was dancing like she was competing.

Legacy is from Miami. He came to California with his friend to start a dancing career and literally became street performers just to make end meet. His solo was to the tune ” No Air” by Jordan Sparks and Chris Brown.

Eleanor and Jakob danced their second routine to “Tore My Heart”, which was choreographed by Sonya. Nigel stood and yelled “Wow!!” You have just rewritten all the rules of chemistry! This is really my favorite routine of the season! Mary exclaimed, ” I don’t know what goes on inside Sonya’s head but I like it!” Adam gasped, “Oh My God! I fell like I need a stretcher. This will leave an indelible mark on the fans of this show forever.” At this point all three judges stood and applauded.

Ashleigh was born in Utah. She started dancing when she was 12, and when she was 13 she got a rare infection that made every bone, joint and muscle she had hurt unbearably. The fact that she is able to do what she does now is simply a miracle. Her solo was danced to “Batucada Por Favor”.

Mollee and Russell danced their second dance, The Jive, and Nigel told then they did great to follow Eleanor and Jakob. He said they were a really fun couple and that he hopes they are in the competition for a long time. Mary screamed and called them both ” Hot Tamales” and said it was a great partnership. Adam said, ” I fell so good about this partnership.”

Jakob grew up in a small town in Florida. Although his dad tried to push him into sports, his mom took him to New York to see Broadway, and he realized he wanted to dance. He ended tonight’s “So You Think You Can Dance” with a solo to the song “Always Midnight”.
