June 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Snoop Dogg, the famed U.S rapper is banned from the line-up at a Dutch festival by ministry officials. Snoop Dogg was confirmed to perform at the Parkpop festival in The Hague on June 27 but then he was axed from the list when the government officials called for a ban on the musical artist.
The police said that to guarantee “open and friendly character” of the free festival, and free admission of Parkpop, they did this subtraction. It has come to light that authorities have asked organizers of the Dutch Festival to find a replacement of the much acclaimed rapper. The other celebrities set to appear in this festival are Alphabet, Nick Lowe and Juliette Lewis and German pop legend Nena.
The reason for this sudden drop of the performer Snoop Dogg is not known. There can be many reasons though, the US rapper is renowned for his marijuana possession and also his lyrics might be another reason, given the “open and friendly” character of the concert that has been highlighted. The organizers say that they are left with very little time in their hand to arrange for a replacement as the concert is scheduled on June 27.
Snoop Dogg has many police histories in his past, he was arrested for cocaine possession after his graduation and spent his three years in prison. The US hip hop icon was accused of murder in 1993, he has previously denied visas to perform abroad including Australia as he was convicted for drug and firearms accusation as well as it was suspected that he had ties with Los Angeles gangs. It is being speculated that these previous records might have cost him the concert in Netherlands.
