New York City, May 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Smallville is all set to end next year. The series, which has run for 10 seasons, would telecast its final episode next year. The series aired on the 16th October 2001. Since its first episode, the show has averaged about 4.47 million viewers per episode.

The original developers of the show - Alfred Gough and Miles Millar left the series after seven seasons in 2008. After the exit of Alfred and Miles many fans of the show thought that the series would be taken off air soon. But the television network remarkably kept the program on air, and it also enjoyed some sort of commercial success too.

The initial show was aired on ‘The WB’ and it became an instant hit for the network. It had 8.4 million viewers for its pilot. The show is one of the only three shows on CW currently. The other two shows are Supernatural and One Tree Hill. The show has had 195 episodes so far. The show is about Clark Kent and his days in his hometown Smallville.

CW announced the launch of the 10th season of the show last March. CW is expected to make the announcement of the ending of the show on Thursday.
