Mumbai, Jan 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rubina Ali who starred in the multiple Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ was left homeless when her one-room hut was demolished. The government probably demolished it because they wanted to pave a way for a new railway station through the Garib Nagar slum in Mumbai.

Since she is a child star so the case has got a lot of coverage. Rubina and her friends pleaded with the authorities not to demolish the hut, but their pleas fell on deaf ears. One of her friends said that, “Rubina was pleading with the authorities when they came. She was telling them, ‘This is my house, I was born here.’ She will now have to sleep in the open until they can rebuild it. She is worried for her baby sister.”

This is the second time that the child actress has been rendered homeless. Last year also her house was demolished in May, but the family later rebuilt it. The director of the movie Slumdog Millionaire Danny Boyle has offered them to buy them an apartment but they have consistently refused. Some people are of the opinion that the apartment that Danny Boyle is offering is not to their liking and they want a better and a more expensive apartment.
