‘Sister Wives’ stars say show was risk worth taking
September 29th, 2010 - 5:49 pm ICT by ANINew York, Sept 29 (ANI): The stars of reality television show ‘Sister Wives’, who are facing a possible felony bigamy charge, have said that it was a risk worth taking.
According to People magazine, Kody Brown, 42, and his four wives’ growing publicity with the TLC show began to attract the attention and suspicion of the authorities in Utah where bigamy is a third-degree felony.
And the police reportedly began looking into the Brown family before their show even premiered last Sunday.
“At the conclusion of the investigation, the evidence will be forwarded to the Utah County Attorney’s Office for review and possible prosecution,” the New York Daily News quoted Lt. Darren Paul as saying.
But the salesman and his four wives, Meri, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn, insist that they will continue to live the way they want, despite the social stigma and now possible legal ramifications.
“We are disappointed in the announcement of an investigation, but when we decided to do this show, we knew there would be risks,” the family told TMZ.com in a statement.
“But for the sake of our family, and most importantly, our kids, we felt it was a risk worth taking,” they added.
Janelle, who has six children of her own with Kody, added: “If we raise productive, contributing members of society who are moral and ethical, that’s our final goal, whatever their path is.” (ANI)
