Sir Tom Jones fails to become oldest chart topper
August 2nd, 2010 - 5:05 pm ICT by ANILondon, August 02 (ANI): Welsh singer Sir Tom Jones could not become the oldest male musician to have a number one album in the UK.
The 70-year-old artist had hoped to make it to the top of the charts with his latest studio album, ‘Praise and Blame’.
But he failed to remove Eminem’s album ‘Recovery’ from the number one place.
Sir Jones’ latest album explores issues of faith, sin and redemption.
“I’ve been wanting to do this album for a long time but it’s hard to get a record company to go along with you,” the BBC quoted Sir Jones as saying. (ANI)
