Los Angeles, May 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The first episode of the first-ever scripted show on VH1 premiered on Monday. The series “Single Ladies” is a new territory for the network which is mainly known to air reality television shows.

LisaRaye McCoy who played the character Keisha Green gave an interview giving some insight into the making of the series. She revealed that her character was developed with her personality in mind by the writer of the script, Stacy A. Littlejohn. McCoy said the producer of the show later tried to give another person the chance to play the role because according to her, the producer wanted a younger actress to be that character. She however managed to get the role back.

Taking the role away from her would have been devastating for the actress because she indicated in the interview that she loved the character in which she was cast.

She said that, “It’s full of drama and comedy and yet it’s so real. When you have a series that is going up against reality television, which is taking over now, you want to have something fresh enough that will capture people’s attention.”

The premiere show was aired on 9 pm EST on VH1.
