Singer Rich Cronin dies at the untimely age of 35 years

rich Sep 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Rich Cronin has lost his battle with leukemia. The ace songwriter and singer died at the age of 35 years on Wednesday. He was diagnosed with the ailment in 2005 and the singer has been battling with the condition ever since.

Cronin was the leader of LFO and he composed the group’s greatest hit “Summer Girls” in the 90’s. The song spent a total of six weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Single Sales chart. The song also sold more than 1,000,000 copies and the song went platinum in the United States. The LFO group broke out in 2002, when the members decided to pursue other personal goal but the group later came back together in 2009.

Cronin after learning of his leukemia status started the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation to help raise awareness about the condition. The foundation also asked Americans to donate bone marrow and blood.

Cronin was born in 1975 at Kingston, Massachusetts. He attended the Sacred Heart High School and was member of the class of 1993. The singer is of Swedish and Irish descent.

His brother Mike Cronin who was manager of the band O-Town survives him.
