Singer Leon Russell Performs At Grammy Awards 2010

leonLos Angeles, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Much acclaimed musical artist Leon Russell was one of the performers who ruled the stage with his stunning performance at the 2010 Grammy Award ceremony which was held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday night. The veteran musician gave a mesmerizing performance along with country music band Zac Brown Band, which kept the audiences asking for more.

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards witnessed Zac Brown Band commence their much anticipated performance with an amazing rendition of the track “America the Beautiful”. This was followed by Leon Russell’s introduction on stage, who gave company to the country music band in piano, as they went ahead to perform their hit track “Chicken Fried”. The performance showcased by Zac Brown Band and the 67 year old musical artist managed to put the stage on fire, as it was hugely enjoyed by the audiences.

Moreover, the occasion was all the more special for all the fans of the “Tight Rope” singer as this marked his first performance on the Grammy platform. At the same time, Leon Russell’s appearance on stage also received wide viewership as it came barely two weeks following his brain-fluid leak surgery.

While talking about his appearance just two weeks after undergoing the surgery, the legendary musician added that his recovery has been quick but he has been feeling a bit tired lately. However, the musical artist also implied that he was relieved that he would be in the background and would not have to walk the red carpet.

Leon Russell, who emerged in the musical scenario way back in the 60’s, is known for his illustrious career spanning across years.
