George Michael Sep 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer George Michael was sent to prison on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to DUI. It may be recalled that in July the singer was found slumped over the driver’s wheel of his Range Rover, when he had crashed it through a Snappy Snaps store.

When the police arrived at the scene, then they were surprised to find that the singer was slumped over the driver’s wheel and on top of that had no recollection at all of the sequence of events, which led to the crash.

The pop singer pleaded guilty to the DUI charge and as a result the judge reduced his sentence a tiny bit. Normally such a charge carries a sentence of 12 weeks but the judge was impressed with Michael’s honesty and so he sentenced Michael to just 8 weeks.

Apart from the sentence, the pop singer was also asked to cough up $1925 and is also banned from driving for the next 5 years. This isn’t the first time he had a brush with the law related to DUI. Almost 4 years earlier also he had been found guilty of DUI. However now the 47-year-old singer seems to be learning from his mistakes and he says in a candid manner that he is trying to cut down his cannabis usage.
