London, Aug 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer George Michael has been arrested as he was in the possession of cannabis and was also indulging in reckless driving even though he was under the influence of alcohol/drugs. The London’s Metropolitan Police Service confirmed the news.

The police officials also added that later the 47-year-old singer was released on bail. And he is all set to present himself at the Highbury Corner Magistrates Court, which is located in the northern part of London on the 24th of August.

It may be recalled that on the 4th of July George Michael was a part of an accident in which he had smashed his car into a photo shop in London.

This is not George Michael’s first brush with the law. In the past too, he has had run-ins with the law numerous times. Three years ago, in 2007 he received a 2-year driving ban because he was found unfit to drive because of tiredness and prescription medication. Then in 2008 he was again arrested in Hampstead Heath Park, as he was in the possession of a controlled substance.

In 2009 the police questioned him when his car had struck a tractor-trailer, but he was not charged and arrested in this case.
