Singer Etta James hospitalized with blood poisoning
May 14th, 2011 - 2:26 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattRiverside, May 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer Etta James has been hospitalized with blood poisoning. The news was confirmed by her son – Sametto Jones. He also revealed that the legendary singer was hospitalized in a Riverside hospital as she was suffering from an urinary tract infection and blood infection sepsis as well.
Sametto James said that, “It was a really bad infection. Right now she’s doing a lot better.” Etta James has had several medical issues in the past as well. She had a long stint with obesity and then she also had to undergo gastric bypass surgery. Her son Sametto James also added that till his mother doesn’t recuperate fully, she is going to remain under the observation of the doctors in the hospital. Since her infections are a bit critical, so recovering fully could take some time.
The 73 years old Etta James has won the Grammy Award three times. She attained critical name and fame with ‘The Wallflower’ and ‘Good Rockin’ Daddy’. However she attained the love of the masses and the critics alike with her super duper hit ‘At Last.’
James was then included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
