London, Aug 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Whether Cheryl Cole would keep her married surname or not, despite her split from her footballer husband was a source of constant speculation for the media and fans. And now it has been confirmed that singer Cheryl is all set to keep her married name, despite an imminent divorce from her husband Ashley Cole. Her maiden name was Cheryl Tweedy and she certainly doesn’t seem at all interested in going back to it.

Cheryl gained a lot of name and fame as ‘Cheryl Cole’ and she certainly doesn’t want to complicate things by constantly changing her name. She is all set to release her second solo album under her name – Cheryl Cole, which implies that she wants to keep her married surname.

According to The Sun, a source said that, “Cheryl has decided her married name will stay. She feels the most successful period of her career has been under the name Cole. She’s established in Europe. Going back to her maiden name Tweedy would be confusing.”

The source also added that one of Cheryl’s icons is Tina Turner who also got divorced during the course of her career, but she still decided to keep her married name, because that is how she was known by the world at large.
