Loved it and love her! It was clean, wholesome fun and great to see that she doesn’t take herself to seriously.

    Her voice is just amazing!

  7. RC Says:

That special was LAME. She has sooo much talent that the producers made special effort to play out the dumbest skits..boooooooo carries agent for not reading the script and managing the rewrites…booooooo booooooo

  8. Shannon Says:

It was very entertaining indeed! I loved how she included her family and I love the other musical acts as well. The only thing is, there were only two Christmas songs throughout the whole show. I wish she did a little more…but overall, it was fun!

Thought Carrie was delightful in her performances, but wished the manager/producers had expended a little better effort regarding some of the supposedly comic interludes, which were hit or miss (a lot of misses, as I didn’t like seeing Carrie playing against her true character, doing shtick involving bad behavior like bribes and voodoo dolls). Also, really wished the opening had been more in the holiday spirit, instead of black-clad Carrie and some male dancers doing COWBOY CASANOVA - could have saved that for later in the program. Kudos, as always to Carrie’s musical performances, and nice job to by her guests. Thank you, Carrie.

I am a big Carrie Underwood fan from the very beginning. I love her. BUT, the show last night was very disappointing. I agree with those who thought the skits were dull and stupid. I thought it was a ‘holiday’ special - was looking forward to hearing more classic Christmas songs from her and her guests. BTW: Brad Paisley is great - but why him when he couldn’t physically be there?? There would have been so many others to have instead. Oh well, I’m still a fan, and will always watch for her on t.v. - but her show was 50/50 for me - 50% good and 50% disappointing.

I just love Carrie, but that was the worst special! Her writers were way off on this,, she is not a commedian,,, her mother says poop on national tv,, vodo dolls,, gay men,,her sisters bra straps showed,, come on!! The only thing Christmas about it was the last song. Carrie is better than this,, leave the family home and get new writers!

  12. James Says:

I love to see her preform, she is truely gifted. However I was very disapointed that they would even call that a Holiday special. There were only 2 holiday songs in what the last 10 minutes of the program. I watched with my mother and she felt very cheated, an misled. There was no feeling of holiday cheer in the show except for what 6 Christmas trees at the end. I noticed Simon Fuller and Nygel Lythgoe in the credits, so where were some of the past Idol singers to help her? I mean lets be serious Christina Applegate cant sing. It was just produced poorly.

  13. Nigel Says:

Apparently Hollywood forgot what a Christmas special was all about. It’s about holiday music and holiday skits with Christmas trees and family and guests who sing carols and so on….not the boring drool and poorly put together skits that were obviously put together by someone with no experience…what a dud. I love Carries music …but the special..it was not!

  14. Annie J Says:

I thought the special sucked. Who cares about her Mom and her dog - it was ridiculous to bill it as a “holiday” special. I kept waiting for the Christmas songs but even they were lame. The only hihglight for me was seeing Dolly Parton - at least she was as advertised!

  15. ANNIE Says:

The show was way too long and I was very disappointed that there was not any Christmas music to speak of. The skits were close to being annoying. Carrie does have a good voice but I actually was bored during the first hour. All in all, very disappointing.

  16. Annka Says:

I agree with those who thought this special was a terrible disappointment. I’m a fan, but this was awful. It’s not funny to think that contestants paid to win American Idol, or that Ms. Underwood is so stupid that she can’t tell one person from another (dating sequences). And who want’s to see Ms. Underwood’s Mom making a fool of herself on national TV? It’s just uncomfortable to watch. I also could have lived with out the banter with Ms. Applegate and Ms. Chenoweth (but the song was really good). I really like Brad Paisley, but if he couldn’t be on the same stage, they should have cut the song. It appeared as if Ms. Underwood is not important enough to make sure the “guests” showed up. Generally, the music was fine but, if they didn’t have enough to fill 2 hours, they should have cut the program to 1.

Had looked forward to seeing it. I turned it off after 45 minutes. I think she is very lovely and talented, but this was not a good way to display her talents.

  18. Val Says:

I am a huge Carrie Underwood fan and was looking forward to this special. What a huge disappointment. It was absolutely horrible and I cut it off and erased the recording after the “Jack Nicholson” character appeared. I never got to the point of seeing her guests. Complete drivel and I’m embarrassed for her

  19. Jon Says:

I thought it was the biggest self-indulgent piece of crap. Where was the holiday theme? She didn’t sing any Christmas songs. All she did was show her climb from Amer Idol and how great she is. We were majorly disappointed! Shame, Carrie!

  20. Chelsyna Says:

I absolutely adore Carrie Underwood, but that was a simply AWFUL holiday special.

I agree that the only skit that was even remotely funny was the one with Ace; the rest were literally painful to watch (very cringe-worthy). And what kind of holiday special begins with a leather dominatrix outfit and scary men doing strange dances? And it only got (much) worse from there.

I enjoyed some of the songs because I *love* Carrie’s voice, but the trappings detracted from the music rather than added anything tangible or remotely entertaining.

If Carrie wasn’t my favorite singer, I would have turned that mess off after about 10-15 minutes. Really too bad as I had high hopes for her first holiday special.
