Dec.06, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American singer Alexa Ray Joel has been hospitalized after she swallowed large number of pills on Saturday. The 23 year old singer, who is the daughter of acclaimed singer Billy Joel and supermodel Christie Brinkley, supposedly consumed multiple sleeping pills at her Manhattan home after she had a breakup with her boyfriend.

Although, as of now it remains unclear whether the young singer had consumed the pills by mistake or she tried to kill herself, rumors are circulating that she attempted to commit suicide after having parted ways with her boyfriend. However, no information has been validated till now. It was later revealed that the singer was taken to the St. Vincent’s Hospital shortly after one of her friends called 911 from her apartment. Her friend added that Alexa Ray Joel had consumed multiple pills as she was in a disturbed state of mind and was also complaining of breathing problems.

Her father, singer Billy Joel has come out and spoken to the media about his daughter’s condition. The singer has added that Alexa Ray Joel has received necessary treatment and is doing well. Moreover, a representative of the singer has also issued a statement where it has been expressed that her condition is stable and the doctors are evaluating her requirements.

The young singer-songwriter was supposedly just eight years old when her celebrity parents decided to get separated and were divorced in the year 1994. Moreover, certain sources have also claimed that the singer is also suffering from the trauma of her parent’s divorces from their respective partners which took place recently.
