Dec.22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) ‘The Sing Off’ finale has been held and the voted champions are the San Juan based band- Nota. The three groups left for the finals were Beelzebubs, Nota and Voices of Lee, from which the Lees got eliminated, leaving the other two pitched against each other. The episode saw some great performances by the final contestants and also by the special guest of the night, Boyz II Men and Smokey Robinson. The other celebrities to perform the night were Bobby Mcferrin and Folds, who set the stage on fire with ‘Why Cant We Be Friends’. There was also a different version of the Lesley Gore’s hit, “You Don’t Own Me”, by Scherzinger who was accompanied by Beelzebubs.

The band members were delirious with their win and said that this meant “a brand new life” for them when the host Nick Lachey said that the victory was “an immeasurable honour”. Nota also has its own Facebook page that seems to be pouring in with congratulations.

As people know by now, after the success of Glee, NBC had brought about a new reality show called The Sing Off, where eight cappella band were vying for a Sony Contract of $1,00,000. A short show, The Sing Off only lasted for a week, with the Nota emerging as the voted winners. The crew consisting of the Puerto Ricans- Juan Eli, Jose Angel, Johnny D and Edgar Rios had the main USP of using their wicked/talented mouths to voice instruments. Percussion and keyboards were their specialty, which seems to have carried them so far.
