La Verne, July 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Martha Henderson is a happy woman today but there was a time when she could not imagine that she would become famous only by selling apple candies. The business which started as a means to satiate a passion, went on to make Martha Henderson a household name in the United States. The 51 year old lady’s store the Sinfully Sweet Apple Company was featured on a special episode of “Kid in a Candy Store” on the Food Network.

Now a successful businesswoman, Martha Henderson recalls the days when she used to work at the Orange County farmers market making gourmet apples. This job however was soon replaced with that of a laboratory manager at a Caltech lab. Her culinary skills however were exhibited every once in a while when Martha Henderson prepared apple dishes for friends and family members during special celebrations. It was then that Cheryl Kling, a co-worker of Martha Henderson at the Caltech laboratory, urged her to take up her passion as a profession.

What followed next was a rented kitchen managed by Martha Henderson and Cheryl Kling that supplied various types of apple candies to its customers. It was a new health code enacted in the United States that forced the two women to open their first store at La Verne. The store was named Sinfully Sweet Apple Company. Founded in the month of October of 2009, the store has been wonderful business. It has not only brought in the moolahs, but has also drawn customers from neighboring cities, who visit the store to taste the large assortment of apple candies, chocolate popcorn, cupcakes, cheesecakes and much more.
