Simpsons all set for the 23rd season

Los Angeles, Nov 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fox has shown no intention of dropping the show “Simpsons”. The network recently signed up the 23rd season of the show. Some analysts believe that Fox is most interested in having the tag of showing the longest running series in history.

If the show makes it to the 500th episode, it will join a very rare class of series that have achieved that feat. That will be achieved during the 23rd season of the series. The feat was achieved by “Lassie” and “Gunsmoke”. Currently the series has the enviable title of being the longest running comedy on TV in the United States.

The executive producer of the show, Al Jean said that, “Like many 22-year-olds, ‘The Simpsons’ is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn’t have to go out into the real world for many years to come”. The animated series are showed all over the world and it is translated in over 50 languages.

With the show being viewed in some 100 countries, the series is highly successful when it comes to awards. The show has won 27 Emmy awards since the show started in 1989. The characters of the show remain some of the most famous characters in the world.
