Simon Monjack Follows Wife Brittany To Grave 5 Months Later

May 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Five months ago the world lost Brittany Murphy to a combination of pneumonia, iron deficiency and prescription drugs. There was a bit of controversy at the time, because her husband Simon Monjack did not want an autopsy performed. Then later Simon Monjack was once again in the headlines as he was forced to pay back money which he had collected from a supposed charity which he formed in his wife’s name. Simon was not left anything by his wife upon her death, because, in her own words, “I am married to Simon Monjack who I have intentionally left out of this will.” He had never listed “The Brittany Murphy Foundation” as a charity, and therefore had to give back all of the money he had obtained in her name.
At the age of 38, Simon Monjack has followed his wife to her grave, after being found unconscious by Brittany’s mother in Los Angeles, in the same home in which Brittany died. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has confirmed today (Monday) that the 39 year old screenwriter was pronounced dead around 9:24 pm PT on Sunday night. Although the “Guardian” is saying the death was a heart attack, there has not yet been an official cause of death given. The police stated that it looked to be natural causes. “We have detectives at scene,” Sgt. Louie Lozano stated “They are conducting their investigation. Once we have further information, we will provide it.”( Los Angeles Times)
Among Monjack’s credits were writing “Factory Girl” in 2006, and “Two Days Nine Lives” in 2001, as well as being married to Brittany Murphy. The two had been wedded since 2007.
