Simon Monjack “died of a broken heart”, says his mum

London, May 26 (ANI): Simon Monjack’s mother has said he “died of a broken heart” following the death of his wife/actress Brittany Murphy.
Seemingly, the British screenwriter’s heart problems were aggravated by the sorrow.
Monjack passed away on Sunday, barely six months after Murphy’s death in December last year.
“He’s had heart problems and been in deep distress since Brittany died. We think he has literally died of a broken heart,” the Telegraph quoted his mother Linda, a hypnotherapist from Buckinghamshire, as saying.
She added: “We think the heart problems were caused by the shock of Brittany’s death. She was the love of his life and he was the love of my life. He was so distressed.
“I’d known he was ill all weekend and I was trying to get a flight out to Los Angeles. It would have been the first time I would’ve seen him since Brittany’s death. I just wanted to see my son.”
Meanwhile, Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, who is investigating the death, told Radaronline: “We are now investigating two possibilities of what caused Monjack to die.
“First, a heart attack and, second, an accidental overdose. There were no illicit drugs located - just prescription medications.” (ANI)
