Simon Cowell Sued for Public Humiliation By Distraught Contestant

simon1 July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) When Emma Czikai auditioned for the television show Britain’s Got Talent in May of 2009, Simon was not at all impressed and told the contestant so in what could be conceived as a very mild way for the usually rough Simon, as he said to her, “You have got a horrible singing voice, Emma.”

And now Emma, the rejected contestant, is attempting to sue Simon Cowell for public humiliation, to the tune of 3.8 million dollars, according the The Sun. The 54 year old former contestant contends that Simon was personally responsible for making sure that her audition was aired, even though she had written him a letter to explain that it was health problems which caused her audition to go so badly.

According to the New York Daily News, Czikai stated at her pre-hearing review in London, “This program makes a select number of rich people very, very rich on the backs of the ordinary man and woman in the street through exploitation, humiliation, degradation and a re-emergence of modern-day barbarism with all its inherent cruelty.”

Czikai claims that her performance of “You Raise Me Up” was adversely affected by a sickness which causes painful swelling all over her body, and added, “I haven’t got a horrible singing voice when I sing in a fair environment that meets the needs of my particular disabilities.” She claims that she sued in order to retain her self respect and dignity, which apparently costs almost 4 million dollars.

The audition can be seen in the video below. In it, she gives many reasons why her audition went so badly, from the microphone, to the music being to loud. Not once did she mention a physical problem, however.

How absolutely stupid. People know when they audition for these type of shows that if they stink, Simon will tell them. She obviously could not sing, and as the writer pointed out, she gave many excuses for her failure to impress the judges, yet she never mentions an illness, and now she wants almost 4 million? People will sue for anything these days, glad to see it isn’t just in America!!
